The Parent Portal has been renamed to the Student Portal. Whether you are a parent or a student, you will access the Student Portal through the d6 Communicator App. Students logged in with their own credentials can now view their own school information directly.
d6 Communicator App > Student Portal
The Student Portal gives students, parents, and approved viewers secure access to school information through the d6 Communicator App. This article explains who can access the portal and what each user type can do.
There are three types of users who can access the Student Portal:
Students — Log in using their own email address or cellphone number.
Parents — Log in using their own email address or cellphone number.
Viewers (e.g. grandparents or au pairs) — Once a parent has granted viewer access, viewers log in using their own email address or cellphone number.
Students must be registered in the d6 Communicator App with their own email address as reflected on the d6 School Management Portal. If a student logs in using a parent's email address, they will see parent-level information — not student-level information.
The name change reflects the expanded access now available to students. Previously, only parents could log in. Students can now access their own school information using their own credentials, so the name was updated to be more inclusive.
They can, but they will see parent-level information rather than student-level information. Students must log in with the email address the school has registered specifically for them to access their own data.
A Viewer is someone such as a grandparent or au pair who a parent has granted limited access to. The parent adds the Viewer from within the Student Portal. Viewers can only see marks, attendance, and discipline — not financial information.
