This guide gives school administrators a quick overview of eight core admin tasks in d6: activating users and assigning rights, adding staff and learners, capturing attendance, and configuring classrooms. Each section covers the basic steps, with a link to the detailed article where one is available.

The User Roles module enables Superusers to create and edit standardised rights templates (for example After-care Staff or Pre-primary Staff), so access rights can be managed for entire departments at once.
Open the User Roles module as a Superuser.
Select the role to edit, or create a new role.
Adjust the access rights linked to the role and save.

Attendance Confirmation verifies that all learner attendance data, including absentees, has been captured correctly for the week. Use the bulk confirmation option to confirm all registers at once. This step is mandatory for weekly reporting compliance and successful data exports.

Navigate to the Absentees function in the Staff module.
Select the applicable week and add the absent staff member(s) — multiple staff members can be added for the same week.
Assign the leave reason and any applicable compliance flags, then save.
Classroom configuration groups learners correctly and links educators to the right classes. Complete register class grouping and class designation first — register class setup cannot be reversed at year-end. Then assign educators to classrooms through register class setup.
